About Us

Our Journey: From a small initiative to a leading force for positive change

Founded in 2010 by John 'Dez' Easter and Duane 'Naheen' Binion, True T PGH serves as a community platform for queer arts, wellness, activism, and entertainment for the Historical Underground Ballroom Scene. The lack of resources and support in our community is what activated the mission and vision of what True T is today. Our mission at True T PGH is to elevate community well-being through innovative programs in creative arts, health, and education. At True T PGH, we are more than just an organization, we are a vibrant community dedicated to making a meaningful impact through creativity, health, and education. Our journey began with a simple yet profound vision to support and empower individuals by providing them with the tools and resources they need to thrive. Since our inception, we have grown into a cornerstone of support and inspiration for our community.

Founded on the principles of inclusivity and compassion, True T PGH has grown from a small initiative into a thriving organization that makes a significant impact in the lives of those we serve. Our commitment is to provide comprehensive support and create opportunities for individuals to flourish. Our mission at True T PGH is to elevate community well-being through innovative programs in creative arts, health, and education. We are dedicated to empowering individuals by providing essential resources and support to help them reach their fullest potential. We strive to foster inclusivity by creating an environment where everyone feels valued and has access to the support they need. Additionally, we are committed to promoting health and well-being through comprehensive health services and self-care resources, aiming to enhance the overall quality of life for those we serve.
